There has often been a debate on whether ghee is good for health or not. Well guess what? Ghee, often accused of being harmful for the heart, actually has no debilitating effect on cardiac health, provided the fat intake is limited to the prescribed amount. In fact ghee has many cancer-fighting properties that have been proven in studies and research conducted in India and abroad.

 

Ghee is a powerful agent with protective elements that fight cancer. A powerful compound called conjugated linoleic acid, (CLA) found in ghee acts as an antioxidant. This helps bring down inflammatory compounds and makes cancer cells to self-destruct (a process known as apoptosis).

As a primarily agrarian economy, cows have always been at the centre of our lives right from ancient times to now. According to legend, it is believed that the cow (Kamadhenu) emerged from an ocean of milk at the time of samudramanthan –that is, at the time of the great churning of the ocean by the gods and demons. And now, it is equally relevant for exactly the same reason as the legend proclaims – the life sustaining milk that it provides us with.

On my social media newsfeed today I came across a post which read “Diet cures more than doctors.” I cannot agree more with this statement. Of course, I’m going to take that “diet” here means eating healthy and not starving oneself.

 

In the world we live in, the poor struggle to get a basic meal a day because they can’t afford it. Whereas the rich can buy whatever they fancy because they can afford it. The type of food we eat is being compromised across the board irrespective of wealth. As a result, many of the health problems we see today are simply because of not eating right.
